Man sieht was man hört und man hört was man sieht.

unisono 07 – Duo for piano and video camera (2005/07), Video, 7.26 min

A video camera lies on the strings of a piano (grand piano). It is turned on. The musician plays the sound underneath it. By the vibration of the strings the camera starts to slowly move away from its original position. The picture dramaturgy of the camera is dominated by piano play. It can be influenced directly by the player.
The tone of the piano sounds changed because the camera is lying on the strings. It works like a preparation. Image and sound are in sync. You see what you can hear and you hear what you see.
